Another work-week begins...

It was a pretty nice weekend.
A friend of mine, Dan and I went to see The Fantastic Four on Friday night. I thought it was outstanding. It did need just a tiny bit more fighting with the bad-guy (Dr. Doom), but it laid a great foundation for future movies. Casting was a bit off, as the Reed Richards and Sue Storm characters weren't who I thought should have played them. Don't ge me wrong, I like Jessica Alba, but she didn't do Sue Storm justice. Maybe I'm just getting tougher on movies in my old age.. *chuckle* but it was still a great movie.
Dave the movie critic gives it a 9 out of 10.

Saturday, we went to a picnic on a lake northwest of here, at a beautiful house for our wine club. The day was gorgeous, the wine was excellent, and we had a nice ham dinner with tons of sides. We went out on the owners VERY nice boat for a few rides, and after it got dark, we had a professional pyrotechnician there to light off hundreds of fireworks over the lake, even quite a few he made himself! All in all it was a great day.

Sunday, went to visit mom and dad... dad's doing pretty good, then mowed the lawn front and back, did some trimwork, and later in the afternoon went for a nice long ride in the Vette.

I'm glad Hurricane Dennis didn't do as much damage as predicted.... is it only me, or does it seem like there's a LOT more hurricanes than when we were kids???
