Post 551 Hmm, yesterday's post was 550, this is 551. I'll get it yet. Well, we had some SEVERE thunderstorms come through around dinnertime last night.. and it's finally cooled down. My dauther is leaving today for a trip to Miami to visit a friend till Tuesday... must be nice to be a teacher and have the summer off! *LOL* But you know I'll miss her. Hey Porter, thanks for the info bud! Glad to hear you're coming home soon! *S* Well lilpuppy... with 5 wrong, we may have to re-patriate you! *chuckling* And michelle, you know you're "irregular" to me!! *wink and a laugh* I thought today, I'd make everyone smile with some jokes.. so here we go: (I thought Porter would like this one) BEST COMEBACK EVER A Soldier tells about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at yesterday, on his way home from the base. He said that ahead of several people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha. He said when she got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the US flag lapel pin the cashier wore on her smock. The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly, "yes, I always wear it and I probably always will." The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi. A gentleman standing behind the soldier stepped forward, putting his arm around his shoulders, and nodding towards the soldier, said in a calm and gentle voice to the Iraqi woman: "Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women like this young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid." Everyone within hearing distance cheered. The Top 10 reasons you know your SUV is too big: 10. If you get in an accident, the EPA comes out to investigate the oil spill. 9. To get to the back, your kids have to use the moving sidewalk (standard on the '05 model!) 8. On long road trips, not one of your kids ever complains, "He's touching me!" 7. Kids keep asking if they could blow something up with "your tank." 6. You accidentally run over your neighbor's pet... Honda. 5. It doesn't have cup holders, it has keg holders. 4. You have a rope ladder installed for easy entry. 3. You can't merge because there are 3 cars in your blind spot. 2. It came with a Texaco Seal of Approval. 1. As you drive around town, you hear women yell: "Sorry about your penis!" And now, for the news: One month before Microsoft goes live with new security key, hacker in India breaks code, generates keys for free Space Shuttle Debris Pictures (and the bird) Wow... this is weird Parents cleared of sexual-abuse charges over photo of dad kissing his baby boy on the belly button Microsoft's army of lawyers overlooked the fact that Vista is already a brand name of sewing machines, elevator equipment and a detergent that will help those lawyers clean their underwear That's it for today... enjoy your Thursday! |
