Fall is coming!

I woke up today, and it was about 39 degrees F this morning *shiver*. Fall is coming real quick it seems, and it's supposed to get colder all week!

Thinking back to the cruise, it was nice to get away. I spent a bit of time on deck reading a new book that Aaron loaned me called "The Davinci Code" that's really excellent.
Shopping was good (I enjoy window shopping) and I found a gorgeous Tag Heuer watch that I loved.. only thing that stopped me from buying it was the price. Even at 40% discount over US prices, it was over $1200. I think all we really did buy was one t-shirt for me from Onion Jack's Trading Post, and a six-pack of "Dark and Stormy", the local drink of Bermuda (Ginger Beer and Black Rum).
As you can see by the pictures below, the weather was outstanding. Bright sunshine and mid 80's temps.

Rant
Watching one of the "reality" shows on TV last night, I can't believe how some people talk. Does anyone on EARTH know that it's just plain wrong to say "We was....."??? When I hear that, it drives me nuts! *L* It's "We were" people!
End rant.

Off into the day.....

Back to work (blech)

Vacation was excellent... weather was warm, bright sunshine.. mid 80's. We did have to leave a day early because of Hurricane Juan, but still, Bermuda is absolutely gorgeous!
We looked around, did some shopping, rented a scooter and drove around checking the beaches.. did more shopping. Sad thing is, when we were going to the beach, we were told the cruise ship was going to leave, so we never DID make it in the water. Wife was pretty upset over that and I do feel badly. We both ate too much, stayed up way too late, and had a blast. Wife even went to see a show of the "Shippendales" on Friday night that was quite funny. I did real well in the casino, walking away with at least $100 of the ship's money. *S*

More later, as work is pulling at me hard this morning!

T-Minus 24 hours and counting!

Well, by this time tomorrow, I'll be on my way to NYC to pick up the cruise ship to Bermuda!!! I can't wait.. and it's GORGEOUS weather out here now that the storm's gone by.

Went to see mom and dad this morning with Mike, dad's starting to feel a bit better which is a great thing.

Tomorrow, the kids are taking us to the bus that'll take us to NYC.

Mike finally got himself a cell-phone last night (thanks to me). Wife was pretty adament she didn't want him to have one, but I convinced her. It's mostly the same phone as mine, and he's really happy about it.

Well... off to begin packing.. I sure hope LQ is doing ok, haven't heard from her since the storm.

Till the 29th..

TGIF!

You can imagine why today's a BIG TGIF.... vacation time! One week in beautiful Bermuda.
I can't wait to get on the ship on Sunday... it's going to be so nice and relaxing.

I'm hoping that all my friends down south are ok after the hurricane.

Here's hoping everyone has a great week next week!

Getting anxious...

One more workday till vacation, and I'm getting anxious! I need a nice vacation (don't we all), and this one will be nice with no flying involved.

Work will be ultra busy today and tomorrow, and that's good as the time will fly by!

Only thing about next week when I'm gone, all the new TV shows start then! I'll have to set up 2 VCR's to tape all the good things I like or want to see that's new.

Well, got to run.. leave a comment if you read!

*Yawn*

Ok, it's just after 6am as I write this and I'm in work already..

Not much going on today, just trying to keep an eye on Isabell for our trip this Sunday.

Have you been to WhineSpot lately? There's a new one out there that's pretty good.

And go figure, Playboy wants to do a special of "The Women of Wal-Mart"! *laughing* They're getting desperate.

Well, have a great day, work calls....

Ok Ok, I know it's real late..

I've been SO busy today, I haven't had time to blog! Go figure.

Yesterday was a great time at The Big E. Didn't really buy anything, but there's sure a lot to look at! My brother came with us, and he's doing real well (was in a real bad car accident last year).

Other than that, and today being busy, I'm just worried about how high the seas will be on Sunday when we cruise to Bermuda! Just in case, we got some Scopolomine patches! Better safe than sorry.

Heya Mike from Huntspatch, you still reading the blog?

Kent, glad you're finally in the new house (at least I think so). Hmm, both Kent and Mike both moved into new houses weeks from each other!

Hey Aaron, when're we going for Lobster again???? *drooling*

Catch ya's all later!

Rare, Sunday Post..

Friday night, Dave and I went to dinner and a movie. Dinner was some incredible wings and black & tan's, the movie was American Wedding, the American Pie sequel. Great movie, great dinner... had a ball.

Saturday, had SUCH a great time. Aaron and I did a few errands, then went to his buddy Ray's house to pick up Ray and Partha, two friends Aaron used to work with and we drove down to "Abbot's Lobster in the Rough". We had bought a 12 pack of Bass, and we were in heaven. The lobster was fantastic, the company even better. After that, we went to the casino, gambled a bit and had dinner later at Big Bubba's Barbeque, a fantastic southern food place. Got home near midnight, but the day in all was a 10 out of 10.

Thanks to Aaron, Ray and Partha for the fun!

Today's kind of a relaxing day, and tomorrow hopefully off to The Big E!

Till the next wave.....

Friday, once more

Looks like we may have to cancel the Monday trip as it may rain. That sucks as I was looking forward to it.

Going out to dinner and a movie tonight with Dave and hopefully Aaron. Not sure what we'll see. Tomorrow, it's off to Aaron's house, then down to the shore for some lobster!!!

Well, no time this morning for anything more, till next week! Have a great weekend.

One day closer to Friday...

Well, we've decided we're going to "The Big E" on Monday. That's a 5 state fair, held in Massachusetts that we try to go to every other year or so. It's huge, and lasts for about 17 days or so. Needless to say, there will be no blog on Monday.

It's weird, in the afternoon and evenings, I think of so much to put in here the next day, then that next morning, I forget everything I wanted to put here *L* I must need Ginko or something!

Work's getting extremely busy, and it figures... just before vacation! *chuckling*

Do not forget, what happened two years ago today.

Well, work's calling... more later if I can!

<RANT>

I had a long talk with my son last night, that in my opinion, did and didn't really go well. Lets just say I've been upset about it since. (yes, I know he reads my blog, and if he sees this he shouldn't be surprised) It hit me pretty hard last night when he said he "didn't want to hang out with me", or do things with me, because of something I had said about him wanting a tongue piercing, even after I explained what I said/felt, and apologized. The saddest thing is, I get no sense of "love" from him at all anymore, and can't remember the last time I felt like he did love me. Even when we bought him a car, and I went to bat for him to get something real nice (wife was hesitant), and while he was thankful, I just didn't feel what I thought I would from him. Maybe I don't understand how he shows it.
It's starting to really, really get to me, and I wonder if he realizes how much he's pushing me away.

I'm constantly surprised at how sometimes we're never happy with what we have, how sometimes, we see the glass half empty instead of half full. There are times I'm like that. Then I think about some of the places I've seen in the world where people are living in cardboard boxes, in sweltering heat with no electricity or running water. That normally brings me back to reality. The odd thing is, these people are for the most part, completely happy, oblivious to what else there is in the world.

I had a long talk with Aaron on the phone this morning, and as I told my family last night at dinner, I don't envy him his job. He's an incredibly hard worker, a great friend, but has to work for/with people that have very little common sense. I guess we all our problems.

Just so much I'm thinking about today..... if I wrote it all, it'd take all day.

Sometimes, even a sunny day sucks.

Thinking about Bermuda...

I talked to Carrie, our travel agent yesterday and other than 2 hotels closed in Bermuda, and a lot of power out, everything should be back up and running by the time we get there in a couple of weeks. I hope so. Seeing as Bermuda is a very wealthy island, I'm sure they'll go out of their way to get things back running well soon, as tourism is a great part of their income. I'm going to check with the doctors where I work today about what's the newest drug for motion sickness (other than Drammamine and Scopaline). I hear there's something new out, and want to find out if I can get a sample or two.

Supposed to be going with Aaron this Saturday down to a place by the shore called "Abbott's Lobster in the Rough" for some Lobster! I don't eat it often at all because my wife HATES seafood of any kind. So much so, that often, if she walks into a seafood restaurant, she'll get nauseous from the smell. So, when I get a chance like this, I never pass it up!

Dad's got only 2 more radiation treatments left.. and I'm sure he'll be very glad to be done with that. He's been feeling pretty awful lately.

I've pretty much decided that after the cruise to Bermuda, I'm going to go on the Atkins diet myself. It's done wonders for my wife, so I'll give it a try.

Ray's finished all the work he was doing at our house, and came in WAY under budget! Everything looks great too.

Well, have a great Tuesday.....

Monday Morning Blah's

Well, I just got to work and it's almost 90 degrees in my office. Yes, the A/C broke on Friday, I called the service people but they can't get here till today. So, while some people have to actually PAY to go to a sauna, I get one for free in my office! *L*

It was another gorgeous weekend, and we got some outdoor work done. Ray was at the house putting the finishing touches on a few things, and putting the first coat of stain on the deck.

We went to the orchards Saturday, and got some apples, an apple pie and a frozen apple pie, and some mix to make apple crisp!

I think after the cruise.... I'm going to have to bite the bullet and start a serious diet. *sigh*

On another note, I see the hurricane his Bermuda pretty well, but they're expected to recover quickly. The bad news is, there's another hurricane forming and it may take the same track as this one! *groan* All I need is a hurricane to hit the island while we're on vacation there. The wife will NEVER forgive me!

Other than that, I tried to watch some football yesterday, but didn't manage to see much at all due to working around the house, interruptions.. etc. So goes life.

Have a great week...!

TGIF, with Sunshine!

Well, the sun's out again, and it's supposed to be a gorgeous weekend again!!!

I have some things to do outside this weekend, so it should be nice and easy with good weather. We're also planning on going to the orchards we went to last weekend, and getting at least one more pie, and maybe a couple of frozen ones! They were THAT good!

My son has found a "cause" to rally behind. His former high school is cutting some shop courses, and he and some friends are pretty upset over that, as he feels that shop gave him invaluable insights on how things work, how to fix things, and were also a lot of fun. He's going to contact all kinds of people, get stats and try to fight it with the help of friends and former teachers!

Well, have a great weekend all!....

Another day....

Lets just say yesterday was both work and home related. 'nuff said.

Today, it's STILL raining.. but supposed to be a great weekend.

I'm continually amazed at how ignorant higher-up's at work are. They want me to install software that doesn't work. I'm so tired of stupidity.
My boss (the guy who hired me) however, is the complete opposite of these idiots. He's a regular guy (started out as a techie).

Just a little more than 2 weeks, and I'll be on another cruise. I can't wait!!!

Hey, does anyone read this anymore??? I don't see any comments out there!

Bubba, have you sold the second house yet?

Back to work, AND more rain!

Well, it was a wonderfully long weekend (not long enough though), and unfortunately, we're supposed to have another whole week of rain.

Had to run out Saturday night at about 10pm to get some meds for my dad, as he was burning up with fever and all he can take is something like "baby tylenol". Mom was in tears when she called, and I spent a bit of time with her after giving dad the meds. When she was calmed down... I finally headed home.

Sunday, the weather was perfect so we cooked out with daughter and her boyfriend, and son and his girlfriend. Son's girlfriend is a vegetarian, so son bought her some kind of barbequed chicken tasting tofu or soy stuff. Sounded gross and looked worse, but she enjoyed it. Afterwards, son and girlfriend went out and the rest of us watched a movie "Basic" with John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson. Great movie, but I dare anyone to see it, and tell me what it's about! *L*

Yesterday, somehow I hurt my back (been sore for a few days) and mostly I sat and watched TV all day.. just didn't feel like moving. It's still pretty sore today, so I'll try to limit my movement as much as possible.

Have a great day!
