KEV IS A WEENIE! (and TGIF!)

I promised him my blog would say that yesterday, cause he backed out of nekkid pics of himself on his blog! *LOL*

That was a world record, 33 comments yesterday too! Thanks to all who wrote.

Not much going on last night... nothing much to report. This weekend, I have a 50th birthday party to go to tomorrow night, then Sunday I've been invited to a friend's house to watch the Indy 500. We'll see if I do that or not. Other than that, no big plans for Monday (No blog on Monday BTW).

What's everyone here got planned for the weekend?

Ok, the woman who says Kobe Bryant raped her... there's PROOF now, she had sex in the next dozen or so hours after the allegedly "rape". She lied to the police and the bitch should go to jail for a LONG, LONG time! (things like this really piss me off)

Ideas of what NOT to get me for Fathers Day!

Oh, and lest I forget... My "hottie(s) of the week!

Well, that's it for today... have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Another week almost gone..

It's Thursday already.. payday even.

Not much went on last night, except for the American Idol finale. I wanted Diana to win, but Fantasia won. I find it hard to believe that had 65 million votes, and they were seperated by only about 1.6 million. Go figure. Oh, forgot to mention... did anyone else notice Paula Abdul's "inflated" breasts? *LOL* I'm still wondering how they got so big overnight!

Now, the answer to the riddle yesterday:
There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?
The base word is Startling - starting - staring - string - sting - sing - sin - in - I

And a new riddle for today:
What is the next 3 letters in this riddle?
o t t f f s s _ _ _

Answer tomorrow.

Man sues wife for being ugly in the past!

Hey Aaron... How come we don't get THIS fringe benefit? *LOL*

Ok, isn't there something wrong already... with a clown named "Spanky"? (real caption reads: Spanky the Clown arrested on child-pornography charges)

When appearing in court on sex charges, it's best not to wear shirts with a naked-women motif

This probably isn't funny.... but I laughed my ass off! (drunken teenage girl wakes up to find penis drawn on her face in permanent marker!)

That's all for today.... till the next wave!

Hump-Day

The days, they get better (or so I'm told).....

Hey Kev, come on man... post some of those nekkid pics of you.. I'm sure Carr and Karen and shmoopsie would love to see! *L* (but I doubt you will)

Not much went on last night.. so not much to report.

And now, for a riddle:

There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?

Answer tomorrow.

Yo, Bubba..... You let Ex-Cons teach in Kentucky???

What's the odds..... Bird poops in Cyndi Lauper's mouth while singing. Story half-way down page

Hey Colin, You guys in Boston have all the luck! *LOL* (not)

This link my friends... is an example of why America is in so much trouble. Bank of America exec, on the job less than 2 months, leaves with $25 Million severence package.

Fans of "The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy", should know, yesterday was Towel Day!
To quote from the Guide:
A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value - you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine soredly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you - daft as a brush, but very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.

Well, have a great Wednesday, and remember Guide fans, "DON'T PANIC!"

Tuesdays are marginally better than Mondays..

Well, my internet at home was down most of the day yesterday, I called Comcast and they set me up to have a technician to come out on Wednesday night. Magically, an hour after that, it worked again. (we've been having awful thunderstorms yesterday).
Well, last night around 8pm, amidst a LOUD, very close lightning strike, I heard a "sizzle" noise from my cable router. Offline for good it seemed. Tried everything, but it would NOT talk to the cable modem. Soooooooo... I went on down to Staples (copying/technology/business supply store) and bought a new NetGear RP614 Router. Plugged it in, turned it on, ran through the automatic setup and was back online in minutes. Speed is now up to 10.4 Megabit, which is absolutely outstanding.

Hey Kev, give us a preview of you being a stripper man! *L*

Hey Bruce, how was the Clam Chowder dad gave you (that I gave him)?

I'm going to bid tonight, on a Tag Heuer watch that I've always wanted on Ebay. Wish me luck!

Kabul golf course reopens. Hitting a land mine is a two-stroke penalty

You can now take drivers ed online in Texas. To graduate, you must prove you can get past the first level on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

And lastly... a Darwin Finalist for 2003

Have a great day...

Monday's suck....

I had an outstanding Saturday. slept in, had a nice breakfast, ran a few errands and headed to Aaron's house. Gave Aaron a nice bottle of wine to celebrate his new house/condo, checked it out (gorgeous), met his mom, then headed out to Abbotts Lobster in the Rough.
Got to Abbotts about 2pm, and had a great, 3 pound steamed lobster, along with some outstanding clam chowder. To drink, we brought along some "Ten Penny Ale", made here in Connecticut, and probably my second favorite beer on earth (my favorite you can't buy in the US). Left Abbotts and went to the Mohegan Sun Casino.
Gambled for probably 4 hours, and I was down about $60, and then hit a special hand of BlackJack that paid off $100. When we left, I was up about $35, so it just about paid for lunch! Not a bad day.

Sunday, was just the opposite. Had an awful day.. starting with more fighting with my son. *sigh* Things aren't getting any better sadly.

Researchers identify gene that markedly increases teenager's risk of self-mutilation (someone check my son)

Go figure..... Canada has a shortage of strippers!

That's all for today!

Everyone that's glad it's Friday, raise your hand!

Check out this cool car commercial BEFORE reading on. Turn up the sound, so you can hear it better (Thanks to Colin for the link)

Sent my boss that MPEG file yesterday, and said "Turn up the sound, you have to hear the music and sound of this car".. My boss sent to me "You F***er! That scared the shit out of me! I turned up the sound way up cause I couldn't hear it! I can't wait to send it on!" *LOL*

Last night was another quiet night at home.
Dave stopped by after dinner with beer in hand (what a guy!), and we sat and had a few brews together and just talked for a bit.

Anyone have any patented ways of getting rid of a raccoon? We have one living in a tree in our back yard, and he's actually living INSIDE the tree! The huge oak has a hole in it, about 20 feet up, and he lives in there.

Oh, remember the whacko robin in our front yard? Yesterday, there's a broken open robin's egg in the top of the tree in front of our window! Maybe that's why she was there. Go figure.

I can't wait till tomorrow... LOBSTER... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! How big a lobster... depends on how hungry I am at the time.. but most likely, a 2-3 pounder.

Hey, everyone else seems to be doing it... here's my Friday Hottie(s)!

(and just a topic I read this morning) "A third of German motorists fantasize about sex when stuck in traffic, while 10 percent think about finding alternate route. Remaining drivers think about Hasselhoff"

And this is a bit too weird. Student suspended for throwing a pie in the principal's face, after winning a school-sponsored contest to throw a pie in the principal's face (check out the video)

another good news quote "Two bombs defused outside McDonald's in Rome. Suspect spotted fleeing scene muttering "robble, robble, robble"

Well, have a great weekend all!

Almost Friday again....

Not too much exciting going on last night (thank goodness). Work has been extremely busy, which is good... makes the days go by quickly!

Congrats to Aaron on the purchase of a new house/condo!

This weekend, Aaron and I are going to the shore to Abbott's Lobster in the Rough for some Lobster, then to the Mohegan Sun Casino for a bit. Should be a great day of fun.

Hey Bubba and Paul, you guys still read this?
Hey poopee shmoopee, how about you?
Oh, and Kev... I accept hugs from everyone, and thanks for your kind words yesterday. (My son is 19)

And a few funnies for you all today:

And THIS... is way too weird!

Have a nice Thursday

At the end of my rope....

Well there was another big blowout with my son last night, again, the underlying problem is our refusal to let him get his tongue pierced. We wanted him to stick around for a night, and he HATES that. I caught him in a lie yesterday about his car, and he just went off. Then talk turned to money, and his lack of saving much.. as he has many bills to pay for in the coming years for college. He treats my wife and I with such total disrespect, that it's disgusting. I tell you, I'm ashamed at how I brought him up, to act like this. And then, everything's our fault because we drew a line in the sand and said if he got his tongue pierced, he'd have to move out. That's how badly we don't want it. So, the circular argument goes, "what kind of parents would throw their kids out" to which we say "it's YOUR conscious decision to have the piercing KNOWING the consequences, so it's YOU that's kicking yourself out."
Sunday night, he told us about hiking a mountain in the area, and my wife said "I'd rather you don't hike that area at night, as many hikers have died from falls from cliffs in that area", and he blew up telling us we're trying to tell him what he can and can't do. GOOD GRIEF!
All he's been doing lately is upsetting me and my wife, and it's getting old. I'm not sure what to do anymore, but I for one, am sick of losing sleep over him. We feed him, clothe him, bought him a nice car, pay his insurance, and he treats us like crap. This is not the relationship I want(ed) to have with my son. I'm truely at the end of my rope.

Even in this mood, I laughed so hard, I almost cried when I saw this!

Have a nice Wednesday.

Tuesdays... the same as Mondays, just a day later

Well, work's pretty busy, and today is the health center's "Under the Tent" celebration this noon, which means free food, give-away's, music.. the whole works. They do this once a year for employees and volunteers. Should be fun.

The weather's been great here lately.. took a nice walk around the block with the wife last night. I haven't been sleeping well, so I was in bed at just after 9pm last night. Finally slept like a rock.

NOW... they're calling those Mexican UFO's "Ball Lightning" What bull.

How about a website full of Offbeat Limo's? (then again, there's Bubba's version of a limo)

Try The Logo Game I got 11 of them right.

Strange & Unusual Dictionaries

Ok, this is John Kerry's (running for President of the US here) daughter in Cannes! Is she perky, or just happy to see me? *S*

And this.... is just TOO funny to be true.. but it is!

And finally, proof that rednecks are idiots! *LOL*

Have a great day...

Is it Friday yet?

This weekend went by WAY too fast!

Got the new garbage disposal in Friday afternoon, and shared a beer or two with Dave afterwards.

Saturday, did some yardwork in the back, got it all mowed and looking nice, had to go see Mom and Dad, then went out to dinner and a movie with Dave. Went to see "Troy", after having quite a few shots of tequila, but even the tequila didn't help the movie for me. A couple of things didn't help me to like this movie. One, I'm not a Brad Pitt fan, and two, I've never been a fan of historical movies like this. Oh, plus it was almost 3 hours long *groan*.

Yesterday, didn't do too much, went to Costco (like Sams club or BJ's) and got a few things, came home and didn't do too much, then went out to dinner with daughter and her boyfriend.

Didn't sleep well each night this weekend.. *frown*

It IS Friday isn't it??

Well, last night was full of excitement.

After dinner, wife was cleaning up and all of a sudden hears a "BANG" beneath the sink. Opening up the doors beneath sees the garbage disposal has fallen completely from the sink, a rotted piece of metal did the damage. After cleaning up a bunch of the mess (water), making phone calls to see if my best friend (a plumber) can come to fix it (today at about 3pm). By the time we got all settled in, everything done, it was late and we collapsed for a few in front of the TV. So, today I search for a new disposal before my friend gets to my house so I'll be taking a half day off.
The worst part was we were going to call, after dinner, my sister-in-law, who's birthday it was yesterday, but in all the excitement we didn't think of it again till we were lying in bed at about 10:30pm.
Bruce, please tell Cindy Happy Birthday for us, and we'll call tonight and apologize.

Yesterday noon, I had a "Union Representative meeting", as I'm a representative of our Union here, and just like me, I stirred up a hornets nest. Seems they wanted to stage a protest of sorts about poor working conditions for nurses, during the dedication of a new cardiac unit that was donated by our national basketball champion coach, Jim Calhoun. I asked what our protest had to do with Coach Calhoun, and they said nothing, that it was because the media was going to be there.
I was astounded.
I asked, "so, we're going to USE him, throw a wet blanket over a day that should be of celebration, for a person that brings more money into this university than any other one person? We're going to make a wonderful day, into a political statement?
All of a sudden, people all over the room started to agree with me. Madness ensued.
In all fairness, the guy that came up with the plan, handled it like a gentleman, and once he heard what I (and others) had to say, started to think maybe this WASN'T the right day.
Then, the Union Vice President stood up, made only what I can call a "militant speech", and momentarily after that, the VP running the meeting said (because it was getting out of control with people agreeing with my point of view), that whoever wanted to protest could, and whoever didn't wouldn't.

Moving right along.....

It's Official...

We're going to Costa Rica for next February's vacation! We put a deposit on the trip last night, so we're definitely going. Should be interesting, as we'll get to swim in the Pacific Ocean, something we've never done, and get to go further southh than Mexico! Reviews of the resort are outstanding, as it is of the country as a whole.

Oddly enough, my voice mail in work is locked up this morning. First time this has ever happened, but I tried to retrieve my voice mail, and it won't accept my password. Now, after trying 2 or 3 times, it's locked out. Go figure. (and there's a message on there for me)

Lunch with Bruce (my brother) was good yesterday. Went to a great place called "The Corner Pug", that has outstanding food.

Hey Kev... were someone to go to where you live for a vacation, what would be the "top things" for them to see? I'm interested in what there is to see and do there.

Remember the "Yeti" baseball where he bats the penquin? Well here's all the games with Yeti and the penquin! (click on Play Online at top)

Mexico releases video of UFO's, surprisingly, they look like car headlights at 37,000 feet! GM claims it's not them! (video link on right under picture)

Syracuse University drops "men" from nickname, will now be known as "The Orange". Florida considering filing suit.

Sometimes, just the names of the links I find are hilarious:

Hey Colin, What's with this???

Have a great Thursday!

Hump-Day it is!

Happy Hump-Day everyone!

Not much new going on today.. had a busy day in work yesterday, looks like another one today. Having lunch with my brother today as he swings by to go to a doctors appointment.

Supposed to be another gorgeous day here, with temps in the low 80's and low humidity. I need to find time to go out golfing. I never went once last year. This week's too busy though. Maybe next week if we get some good weather.

Can't get to church? Go to I-Church!

And now, for the "COMPLETE DUMBASS AWARD"...

Marking a Milestone

Well, this is my 250th posting on my blog! Who'da thunk I'd keep at it this long.

I had to go over to my friend Ray's house last night to fix his PC, as he couldn't get his Internet Explorer to come up. I've been there a few times before, and keep telling him to step into the 90's at least and get a new PC! I can't begin to tell you how screwed up his PC is, after it's been ravaged with viruses and trojan horses. He's got plenty of money to get a new one.. but hasn't done it yet. I pretty much warned him that I'd used all the band-aids and baling wire in my kit to fix this thing, and that pretty much after this, he's on his own.

Ray's wife is a school teacher in our town, and every year during February vacation, all the teachers and some other people go on great vacations. We've been asked to go next year and we may just do that. They're going to Costa Rica next year, to this hotel. Looks like a gorgeous place, and it should be nice in February.

Be careful what you eat at Cracker Barrel!

What do YOU think they should do with the author of the Sasser Virus?

Damn Bubba! They want to stop you from being able to have junk car in your front yard! The nerve of them!

Have a great Tuesday!

Is it Monday already?

Have I mentioned we have a really stupid robin at our house? Yes, a bird. Sits on a hedge in front of our picture window, see's SOMETHING there, and flings himself into the window, over and over and over again! We have these.... marks on the front window that I can only assume is "robin spit" *LOL* and we have to wash the window every couple of days. I don't know if he sees a reflection and is attacking it, or something in the house. Odd.

It was a nice weekend.. I finally got to sleep in on Saturday. Took mom out to dinner Saturday afternoon/evening with my brother and sister in law, and had a great time.

Supposed to get up near the 90's this week, so it'll be more like summer than spring. Go figure.

Hey Poopie Shmoopie, congrats on selling a painting! *S*

Well, I think it's time to look for a "summer vacation" this week. Looks like the only place with decent prices is in Mexico this year. The Cancun/Riviera Maya area is real inexpensive this year again.

TGIF!

I'm SO glad it's Friday.... I need the sleep tomorrow morning *chuckle*.

I'm still trying to catch up for the lack of sleep in Vegas. We did a lot of walking there.. we visited every major casino on the strip but one, and all the ones in "old Vegas". We also did the new "Borg 4-D Adventure" at the Hilton. That was pretty cool, even if you're not a trek fan.
The room we had, had a beautiful view of the mountains out West, behind the strip.

Other than that, it's business as usual. Work's pretty busy right now, and hopefully I can get a breather late today.

Now here's something EVERY man's wanted!

Talk about being embarassed!

And be careful of those Costco Hot - Dogs!

Have a great weekend all!

Well, I'm not a millionaire.... yet!

The trip to Vegas, while hot, was outstanding! The weather there Monday and Tuesday was over 100, kind of rare for this time of year, but warm nonetheless. Luckily, we were in the casino's most of that time. Gary was like a kid in a candy store. He'd never seen so many casino's, tables and slots. In 2 and a half days, we visited just about every major casino but one, both on the strip and in Old Vegas (downtown). We tried to win every car offered, from PT Cruisers, to trucks, to Dodge Vipers, to Corvettes.. and then some. No luck there.

Oh, and did I mention....

Sunday, got up at 4am to leave for airport, got to Vegas fine, met up with a friend of Gary's there and had dinner, then went gambling with him, and out on the town... never got to bed till 3:30am or so. That's 6:30am, EDT, meaning I was up over 26 hours *groan*. THEN... Gary wakes me up at 8am the next morning!

I lost a LOT of sleep on this trip! *LOL*

More on Vegas tomorrow, as work's going to be real busy today for sure.

Full tank of gas: $30.00. Speeding ticket: $120.00. Writing smartass letter to the police and having ticket voided? Priceless
