Truck back to normal.... after 2 tries

Ok, so here's the story:

Friday, I scheduled my Toyota 4Runner for it's 60,000 checkup (has 58,900 on it now) and told them, out of 18 things to do, NOT to do 3 (Oil Change, Air Filter and Tire rotation). They DID 2 of the remaining 15, but I didn't notice yet as the bill was $175 for what they did. They DID replace a seal in the back somewhere that was under warranty (till 60,000 miles), and had to replace the brake pads because they leaked onto the brakes. This meant they had to re-surface the drums too.

Taking the truck home, I noticed a very bad shudder in the brakes as I slowed down. Thinking this may go away, I just went home and hoped it'd get better. Saturday afternoon, I went out and it only got worse. Now, I had to take the truck back yesterday, and take a day off.

I walk in, and tell them not only about the brakes (and said I wanted a service manager to test drive it), but about the 15 things they neglected to do, and about how I had to take another day off of work. They swear they'll take care of it and for the other 15 things, charge me the bare minimum. (it's fair)

I get a call at noon, that the drums are warped. They're going to replace them, all free (of course idiots). I get another call at 3pm, stating that my front brakes are 90% gone, and do I want to replace them. I ask, why didn't they check that Friday? Now, I'm pissed but tell them to do it.

I pick up my truck, it's fine now, BUT the bill's $280. I get home and read the bill and I'm seething that they called me at 3pm, truck was ready at 4, and charged me $130 for labor for brakes in front. $130/hour!!!!!

I call and rant to the service person, he sends me to the manager and I rante heavily at him. He asks, "what do you want me to do". Now, I don't want to be greedy and ssy "I want cash", so I nicely say, "that's for you to decide, if anything". Then, I proceed to tell him, after a major cluster fuck like this, it'd been nice if he at least WASHED my truck as a token of some kind. I hang up and call my salesman there and tell him what happened (we've bought lots of cars there). When I hang up, Manager calls me back, offering me a bunch of money back, AND to have my truck fully detailed. I counter with one more thing I want (for my wife's car, something small) and he agrees.

What a nightmare.

And now, the news not fit to print:

It soon will be illegal to pilot an airplane while drunk in Pennsylvania. No more keggers in the Piper, honey

The world's first known piece of printed pornography to be auctioned off. Pages still stuck together

Better Late then Never..!

I had to take another day off work today, as on Friday, I had some service done to my Toyota 4Runner, and somehow, they forgot a bunch of things, and the brakes are shuddering very badly. So, I took it there this morning, and should have it back this afternoon. Now, I don't mind normally, a day off.. but I'd have liked to have spaced it out like next weekend or something *chuckling*.

Other than that, my Thanksgiving was very nice, peaceful with a fantastic turkey and all the sides. Everyone ate way too much, and went to bed that night happy as a clam. (are clams happy?)

The weekend flew by.. and my daughter and I did a bit of shopping where I got 4 things for my wife. This coming weekend's going to be busy too (more on that later in the week).

How was everyone elses Thanksgiving??

Here's the news not fit to print for today:

TGIW!

Yep, Thank Goodness it's Wednesday!
Unless I feel industrious, there may be no blog again till Monday. I hope you all have a wonderful Thankgiving day!

Once again, I should have a good busy day today, so it'll fly by.

Tonight, we need to start getting the house in shape tonight for tomorrow, and the smell of Turkey is very much looked forward to tomorrow morning! This is one of my favorite times of year. If it just weren't for the traffic and idiots shopping.. *frown*

So, my daughter comes to see me yesterday. Says her best friend is looking for a vacation place in January, and Sarah tells her "Ask my dad, he's the "travel guru" of the house", then proceeds to tell her friend that there was just a sale on 6 nights in London, air and hotel for $299. Her friend says "But I don't know how to speak French".
Long pause.
Sarah, biting her tongue says, "French? ENGLAND.. ENGLISH.. ENGLAND.. ENGLISH!" to which her friend says.. "But don't they all speak French there?"
Yes friends.. her friend IS blonde.

Where's everyone going for Turkey Day tomorrow? (I know Carrie's working cause she's a Canadian, but she's already HAD her Thanksgiving!)

Hey, have you all seen this picture before? It's from 1954, from the Rand company of what THEY believe a "home computer" could look like in 2004. I think it's hilarious! (and what's the big wheel for?)

FINALLY! (and oh, it's Hump-Day for me!)

For some reason, my blog wouldn't load this morning (the editor). Finally I'm able to get in.

Yep, it's hump-day, as I have Thursday and Friday off! Feels great to have a short week again.

Yesterday was a good day, work was busy so it went by quickly.

Hey Bruce, I got a 20.45# Turkey.. FREE thanks to your coupon.

Yesterday, I see a lady at work (3rd floor in a 3 floor bldg) and she looks lost. I ask "May I help you find someone?" and she says, "How do you go up one floor from here" and I say... "Well, seeing as that's the roof, you'd have to take a ladder!" She was a bit addled, and she said she was looking for her car, in the parking lot. so.... I'm wondering, when did we begin letting people park on the roof?
I'm leaving anyways, so I get the elevator, and walk her to her car. Good grief... I hope she made it HOME ok!

Well, not a lot of time, so here's the news not fit to print:

This is scary.. Jet crashes en route to pick up former President Bush

But this is MUCH scarier!

I want to move to Akron! A yard-long bong, cigarette-smoking vaginas and even "full-on boffing" -- welcome to the world of public-access TV in Akron, Ohio

Aaron, I always wondered why Target is your favorite store!!!!

And another for you Aaron... cause I just couldn't resist...! Police arrest 42 at weekend house party. In other news, Monday morning found very light attendance at the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy

Thirteen-year-old boy abducts exotic dancer, becomes prepubescent legend

Pod of dolphins defends swimmers from Great White. Obviously, these dolphins are not from Miami

And that's the rest of the story! Have a great day!

Three Day Workweek!!!

Yep, another 3 day workweek... I could get used to this!

It's going to be a busy day today, with meetings and a trip to Hartford Hospital and CCMC (CT Childrens Medical Ctr).

Friday night, the play was outstanding! We went to dinner (6 of us) and then we saw Ragtime, a musical about the turn of the century in NYC. The Thomaston Opera House is a VERY old buiulding (1884), recently renovated and very small and cozy. There's no bad seath in the house. The best part, was the actress that played Elizabeth Nesbitt, having a beautiful voice, but she has to do these... "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee" things that were hilarious! All in all, we had a great time.

The wine tasting on Saturday was great. We went with friends and there was plenty of wine and other things to try, food.. everything outstanding. Saturday night, Aaron and Dave came over to watch the UCONN men beat Buffalo. We quaffed a few beers, made some munchies, and had a great time.

Yesterday, I went to a computer show with my son and friend Dan and bought a new set of killer Logitech Speakers that are Dolby 7.1 surround sound with 7 speakers! AND... the price was way below what they want on the website. They sound awesome!

So... all in all it was a great weekend.

Now, the news not fit to print:

Monica Lewinsky gets her shot to star on reality TV; hopes she doesn't blow it

Ok, this is too weird.
Save 10% on anal massage at Target (how would you return something like that?)

Football field-sized black triangles sighted flying over cities. Bust out the tinfoil hats

Photos of Paris Hilton kissing another woman to appear in Hustler (after everyone's seen them online) (What ELSE will she do?)

Well, that's it for now.. have a great Monday!

Friday, November 19, 2004

Ahhh, Friday at last!

Well it's going to be a busy weekend.. and that's a good thing!
Tonight, Dinner with friends, then Ragtime the musical.
Tomorrow, a big wine-tasting, then UCONN Men's first basketball game on TV (Bruce, come on over to watch the game man!)
Sunday, a local computer show I've been waiting for.

Next week, again a 3 day work week for me.. that'll be nice again.

File this under "Don't ask me, I just work for the State", I got a call that I have to set up and deliver 2 new notebook PC's for 2 doctors at the Connecticut Childrens Medical Center (CCMC). So, I go pick up these notebooks... and they're FREAKING HUGE! They must weigh 15 pounds, have a wide screen for watching porn dvd's, and enough heft to hold down a light table in a hurricane. Oh, did I mention the funny parts?
1. One of the doctors doesn't even WANT one! He was forced to get it and swears he won't even use it.
2. They didn't order a carrying case for it (though, at the size of this, I can almost understand why)
These things are so big, they have a FULL size keyboard, including number pad. Look at your keyboard. They're just as wide.

Moving right along.... What's your plans for the weekend?

And now, the news not fit to print:

Bill Gates receives four million emails daily, most of them spam; still has tiny penis

This just in from Moscow: Pickle juice, beef tripe and the "sick head cocktail" among the favorite cures for a Russian hangover (and Aaron says he'd eat anything..(but beets) hmmm!)

Hidden compound of al-Zarqawi found. Location given away by sign reading "al-Qaida Organization" in Arabic. No really, it did!

Ok Bubba... what the hell's THIS all about?
Big Bone Lick opens visitor center. "It's been a long time in coming"

Researcher call on Congress for funds to study "porn addiction". Baby oil initiative to follow (how do you get on the study team?)

Tree in Indonesia secretes magical honey. Winnie the Pooh has the munchies

And of course... My BOTD!

Have a great weekend all!

The weeks, they keep a flyin' by..

Days till my next vacation: 93 (8 nights in Costa Rica)

Goodness the weeks here are flying by lately! The holidays loom up on us so quickly, it seems like they'll go right by in a few seconds.

I wonder how I'll like going to a musical tomorrow night. We're going to see "Ragtime", and I really know little about it. Haven't even ever been to this play/opera house before either. But hey, I'm willing to try anything once! Hey Bruce, you ever been there?

Paul, you ever going to blog again bud? I keep looking.. you must have a new lady in your life *chuckle*

The weather's still nice here.. in the mid 50's every day lately with no rain. It's only a matter of time though.... till the big snowfalls hit. I bet Aaron can't wait to try out the all-wheel drive of his new Honda Element!

Yo, Bubba.. .you still around?

Oh well, time for the news not fit to print:

Texas cross-dressing tradition stopped by parent's complaint over the event's "homosexual overtones"

(this one I love)
Clinton library opens to public. Massage parlor and happy ending considered highlights of the tour

Khan gave Iran bomb-grade uranium, Genesis device

Hunters to sit at their computers and blast away at animals on a Texas ranch via the Internet. What could possibly go wrong?

Oh this is HILARIOUS! And the moral of the story: Always read the small print!!! (if you don't see the problem, look at the sentence after "No Refunds Given"!)

Hey Carrie, is this true? Survey finds four percent of Canadians prefer to be naked when they shop online! Hmmmmmmmmmm

Desperate Housewives Monday Night Football clip everyone's talking about.

And that's, the rest of the story...! Have a great day all!

Hump-Day... finally! What took you so long to get here?

Yep, finally it's Wednesday. It's been an incredibly busy week in work this week so far, and looks to be even busier as the week goes on.

I'm sorry to hear Carrie was not feeling well yesterday... and glad she's back up and around again today! (did you blog though??? Hmmmmmmmm! *chuckle*)

It seems my wife's had the worst two days of her life Monday and Tuesday. Everything she touches turns to mush, in work and at home.. *chuckle*, and to top it off, she went to turn on our dining room light last night, and broke the dimmer switch. She just plopped herself on the couch and refused to move until bed time, afraid to touch anything else. It happens... *S*

Did you guys see, K-Mart and Sears are going to merge?

And what about Condi Rice, being Secretary of State? Good grief... should have picked Howdy Doody... there's less strings attached! *laughing*

And now, for the news not fit to print:

The world's wackiest inventions patented!

This is too funny.. A search engine, that speaks to you! (in an British Accent too!)

Try the Moon Cave game!

Here's a cool site!

Ok... this makes no sense.. Bar decides to raise money for charity of woman who died of alcohol poisoning. Promotes event, offering free jello shots to women

Now, you can hunt real animals, with a real gun, over the internet!

Yes, Playboy is doing "The Women of McDonalds"! Would you like to super-size that?

Ok... 32-C university student auctions 15-minute fondling session on eBay. "Still attached, great condition." eBay banalarity ensues (BTW, she goes by the name of "Twinkly Spangle")

Mother of three leaves children alone in apartment to go buy beer. Leaves them a butane torch and rocket fuel to play with. Since you're reading it on my blog, you have a pretty good idea how it ends

eBay's double-standard: Bid on a date with the Real World's Trishelle "Sure Thing" Canatella

And that's the news...! Have a great day all...

Is it Friday yet?

This time of year, we're always so busy on weekends. It's actually hard to get our Christmas Shopping done.
I started my shopping last week, and only got a few things for my son and daughter. Couldn't find anything I liked for my wife. This coming weekend, on Friday, we're going to see Ragtime, a musical at the Thomaston Opera House with some friends that got some free tickets. It's our first time there, but it should be fun.
Saturday, we're going to a big wine tasting with some friends, then having company that evening to watch the first UCONN Men's basketball game. Ray and Aaron are coming over, and it should be good to see our defending national champs in action. Then next weekend is Thanksgiving. The first weekend of December, we're going out to dinner Friday night with friends, then Saturday night we're invited to a Christmas Party. And on it goes.

I'm going to post here one of my favorite recipes for the holidays. It's called Antipasto Squares, and it's ALWAYS a hit at parties, and easy to make.

Antipasto Squares

Ingredients:
2 Packages of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1/4 Lb each of Salami, Pepperoni, Ham, Provolone Cheese and Swiss Cheese
1 Jar sweet red peppers (mancini type)
2 Eggs
2 Tbs Parmasen cheese

Procedure:
In a 9X13” glass dish, layer across the bottom, one package of crescent rolls, then a layer of (in order) Ham, Provolone Cheese, Salami, Swiss Cheese, Pepperoni, another layer of Swiss Cheese. Lay drained red peppers on top.
Mix in a bowl, 2 eggs and 2 Tbs Parmasen cheese and pour almost all of it over the meats and cheese, they place the second package of crescent rolls on top, and brush remaining mixture of eggs/chees on top for browning purposes.
Cook 350 degrees for 30 mins covered with aluminum foil, then 5 more minutes uncovered to brown.

Here's some funnies for you today...
DID you hear about the dyslexic pimp? He bought a warehouse.

THREE old Ladies named Gertrude, Maude, and Tilly were sitting on a park bench having a quiet conversation when a flasher approached from across the park.

The man came up to the ladies, stood right in front of them, opened his trench coat and exposed himself.

Gertrude immediately had a stroke.

And then Maude also had a stroke.

But Tilly, being older and feebler, bless her heart, couldn't reach that far.

Hope you enjoy!

And now, the news not fit to print:

Here's some video of the taking of Falluja. Quite a large file, but extremely good.

Russians claim to have developed a perpetual motion machine (of course, this is on the same page as stories about aliens living underground!)

Inn other Russian news, Russian citizen sues McDonald's over spilled coffee! (it's nice to see our lawyers are now practicing in Russia!)

And only in Russia would you see this. Cat rapes woman after performing oral sex on her!

Student who wins flying lessons in essay contest crashes during first lesson; vows to stick to writing

UFO Expert: Aliens may be preparing us for ultimate encounter. Get your camera ready

And that's, the rest of the story...! *S* Have a great day!

Mondays suck......

Yep, they sure do. Here I am sitting at work, not really feeling that well, but I didn't want to take a Monday off after a 4 day weekend. Oh well....

Other than that, The weekend was very nice. Got some shopping done, and didn't have to rake any leaves because of the snow *chuckle*.

Heya Terri! I'll be by to check out the message boards soon. Hope things are going well with you.

Did you see that some American archaeologist claims to have found Atlantis this weekend?

Well, there's a LOT of news today, so let me get started:

Friday once again!

I hope everyone had a great Veterans day yesterday! I did!

Daughter and I went to the mall, and found a new store called Steve & Barrys, that is selling everything for under $9.
I bought a new pair of great fitting jeans for $8.99, 3 sweaters for assorted Christmas presents, a new pair of kinda hiking shoes/sneakers for the same price... and the total price came to under $50! I can't understand how they can sell so low.

Today I have a few errands to run.. then back here to do whatever I please! *S* Maybe I'll rent and watch a movie that the wife might not like.

The weekend, not sure what's going on there either... but, it'll probably include raking up more leaves!

Well, I'm outta here real soon, so here's the news not fit to print:

Little girl's lemonade stand nets $1 million three months after her death. Money will go to cancer research

Homeless man snaps after highway crew member becomes latest person to tell him to get off his ass. In other news, homeless people have guns

Surprising no one, Microsoft caught using Google search results to populate its own search engine

When sniffing propane in the back of your van, please mind the "no smoking" signs (Calling Dr. MurphysLaw, calling Dr. MurphysLaw..)

And something special for all you Star Trek Freaks out there!

And it wouldn't be Friday, without My BOTD!

Have a great weekend all!

Ahhhh.. to sleep in..!

Happy Veterans Day. Lets remember all who serve/served!

Yep, it's great to be a State Employee Mike!

In a little while, I'm off with my daughter for some shopping and father/daughter bonding time. *S* It's always a lot of fun with her.

Not really much more to say this morning, as I'm heading out the door in a few... but I'll write more tomorrow when I have the time.

But, that doesn't mean I don't have the news not fit to print!

Scientists release swarm of specially bred flies designed to eat the heads of fire ants. What could possibly go wrong?

When asking a sheriff to search your truck because you think someone planted drugs in it, don't tell them that the meth in the cab is yours

Thank Goodness It's (My) Friday!

Yep, today's my last day of work this week, so tomorrow and Friday's blog may be late. *S* I'll be sleeping in tomorrow and Friday... though tomorrow my daughter and I will be going shopping for early Christmas presents.

Friday... still not sure what I'm doing (other than sleeping). Today's going to be a busy day.. I've got to run to at least 2 other places for work to get some things done.

It was 18 degrees out this morning when I got up! WOW! Where'd fall go?

Carrie actually blogged last night! *grasping my heart* I don't know if I can take it..! *teasing laugh*

Heya Paul, glad you dropped in yesterday bud! How's the new job going?
I also heard from Bubba this past week, and he's been busy as heck in work, so he hasn't been able to visit as often. You know I DO miss you guys when I don't hear from you all!

Once again, I'm going to say if you're missing "Boston Legal" on ABC, Sunday nights, you're missing one HELL of a great comedy! The best part, is that William Shatner (Yes, Captain Kirk) plays the most hilarious part!!! (and it's right after "Desperate Housewives" which is also hilarious!)

It's funny.... I'm a creature of habit, meaning I don't like change that much, so I'm in the swing of watching certain things at certain times.
Before this, on Sunday nights, there was never anything good to watch on TV. Sunday was a depressing time for me. I hated Sunday nights because work was the next day, and it signified the end of the weekend. Now however, I look forward to Sunday nights. Weird what a difference it makes to me.

Oh well, here's the news not fit to print today!

Hump-Day!

Yep, today's my Hump-Day... as tomorrow's the last day of work for me this week.

The weather's turned uber-cold this morning... it's 28 degrees! Feels like late December already.

To answer michelle's question yesterday, the only plans I have are for Thursday, when daughter and I have the day off, and we'll probably go Christmas shopping together. *S* It'd be nice to get some of it out of the way early. Friday, no plans yet. I may go have lunch with some old friends wher I used to work.. not sure yet.

Well, time for the news not fit to print!

Oh, my daughter's going to WIG when she sees this Hello Kitty page! (BTW, Happy Birthday Hello Kitty.. she's turned 30!)

Ok, this is REAL weird. Japanese flock to toxic radon baths hoping to cure everything from high blood pressure to hemorrhoids. Side effects are mild, but can include breathing fire and the sudden urge to destroy Tokyo (seriously, these people are nuts!)

Ahh, a 3 day workweek!

Yeah, seeing as I work for the State, we get Thursday (Veterans Day) off, and I took Friday off to make a nice long weekend.

The weather out here this weekend was absolutely fantastic! Yesterday, it just about got up to 70, with a nice light breeze. We got some leaves picked up, and the doors and windows were open! Today, it's going to be bright and sunshiny, but only up to about 45.

Has anyone seen the new movie "The Incredibles"? My brother saw it and said it was great. I'll have to go see it soon.. the reviews rave about it.

Wow, is it weird that this big "Dallas" TV show retrospective was on TV last night, and Howard Keel, the man who played patriarch Jock Ewing died yesterday morning! I flipped channels a few times to just catch bits and pieces of it, and thought Victoria Principal looks awful! And her husband is one of the BEST plastic surgeons in LA! Go figure.

Well, I'm kinda in a hurry this morning, so I'll get right to the news not fit to print!

Happy Friday!

Wow this week has gone by so quickly! Seems like it was yesterday that it was Monday. Fall seems to do that to me. Soon, it'll be Thanksgiving, then Christmas.. the year will have flown by.

BTW, Kev... that was Disney WORLD I mentioned yesterday, not Disneyland. The difference is, Disneyland will fit in one of the smaller parking lots of Disney World! How've you been Kev? Long time no hear from.
I spoke to my brother last night, sounds like he and his wife had a great time! I'm glad.... everyone needs to go to Disney World and be a kid. He celebrated his birthday while down there (he's a Halloween baby).

Oh, I just got a GREAT joke in the mail from Carrie... here it is:

Osama bin Laden was fed up with George Bush saying he had no idea whether Osama was still alive or not, so he decided to send him a personal message. Bush got the message and it seemed to be in some kind of a secret code.

It read..........370HSSV-0773H

Bush couldn't figure out what it meant so he emailed it to Colin Powell and Colin and his aides couldn't figure it out either.

So Colin sent it to the FBI. They also couldn't crack the code and they asked the CIA, they didn't know.

From there it went to NASA and then the Secret Service who in the end decided to send it the RCMP in Canada.

When the RCMP got it they immediately phoned the White House and told the President he was holding the message upside down.

And now, the news not fit to print:

Email spammers found guilty. Sentenced to serve nine long years in a federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison. Time to tell your cellmates not to buy penis-enlargement pills!

Words you thought you'd never see together: Vatican Sex Guide

This is sickening. Syracuse University offers class devoted to the hip-hop star's life

What does your underwear say about you?

Amazing that I had to get this from a British newspaper, and it's not on CNN or USA Today! F-16 fires on New Jersey elemetary school (school refuses to return fire!)

Why can't we do all close elections like this? High Card Draw Wins!

Residents heard to say about new bronze statue in village, "It looks like the boy has a tremendous boner."

And of course, Babes OF THE DAY! (I'm still wondering about a caption for this picture.. *L*)

Have a great weekend all!

Thursday Already?

I had a nice long post ready, and my browser died when trying to go to a page a few minutes ago, losing everything *frown*

It's another day with a gorgeous sunrise this morning. Bright pinks and oranges against a brilliant blue background. *S*

My brother gets back from Disney World today.... I wonder how he liked it!

Oh, go check out Carrie's blog today.. great picture of her new cat PITA! *L*

I'm wondering if Bubba, Paul or Curt still read the blog here. What's going on guys??

I get specials from a web travel place called Travelzoo, and yesterday, I got a special in the mail for 6 nights in London, with air from NYC or Boston, for $299.00! Holy crap.... that's dirt cheap!

Anyways, I'm a bit rushed this morning, so here's the news not fit to print:

What kind of an ass wears a KKK costume to a school Halloween party??

Yo, Bubba... a DOG got elected mayor in a Kentucky town??

Looney in a wetsuit storms New York City's Governors Island, plants pirate flag, claims land for Captain Jack Sparrow!

Serena Williams wears see-through dress. Yahoo is there!

Definitely, one of the oddest stories I've read in a LONG time!

That's all for now... have a great Thursday all!

Four More Years of Bush??

I waited an HOUR in line last night to vote! I figured, with this many people, and I hear it was all over the country, that people were coming out to vote for Kerry, because they didn't want Bush to win again. I was sure of it. Of course, there just HAS to be a controversy.

Did anyone see on the news, the Texas Panhandle got a foot of snow yesterday, with drifts up to 8 feet! We may get some flurries tomorrow night. *groan*

Today, our union has a special election for first vice president as the person left to seek another job, and I'll be working the election here for 3 and a half hours.

Got home yesterday, and got some of the leaves up off the back yard, but there's a lot more to go. That's the downside of living where the trees are so beautiful in the fall.

And now, the news not fit to print:

This guy collects mouse pointers! (Flash required)

Just for you Carrie... Funny Dog Pictures!

Everything you wanted to know about Sand Castles (with great pictures)

This site is just a bit weird..!

Hey Aaron, Looking for more wallpaper?

Oh well... have a great Wednesday all!

Only in America...

Don't forget, Vote Early, and Vote Often!

Yes michelle, having fun IS allowed! *S* you of all people should know that! *L*

My mom called my brother to wish him a happy birthday down at Disney, and he told her, in the Magic Kingdom parade, who was in it but David Ortiz and Pedro Martinez from the Boston Red Sox! That must have been cool for him as he's a big sox fan.

I've been in since before 6am this morning, so I'm pretty tired this morning. I had to come in early to patch some servers I have here, and it took about 3 reboots of them which isn't as quick as a home PC.

Has anyone else watched the new TV show Boston Legal??? It's SO damn hilarious... with William Shatner playing an aging lawyer that's kinda senile... Please check it out, Mondays at 10pm EST on ABC.

Oh well, on to the news not fit to print:

Girl born without the ability to feel pain; must not be a Yankees fan

Renee Zellweger ships her underwear home via FedEx due to all the attention airport security guards pay to her. Strip searches ensue

Olive oil may help prevent coronary disease. Popeye not impressed

What did you get for Halloween? "I got some candy." "I got some bubble gum." "I got a Rolling Rock"

And that's, the rest of the story...! Have a great Tuesday!

*yawn* Monday already??

I don't care when the time changes, or which way.. I always end up more tired.
There was a gorgeous sunrise on the way to work this morning. Lots of brilliant reds and oranges....

It was a great weekend. Went out to dinner Friday night with friends I used to work with at a great Mexican restaurant, then on Saturday, we took our friend Debbie with us out to the wine tasting we do at our local package store (abc store.. whatever you call it where you are). Ray, Debbie's husband told her before leaving "Don't buy any wine!" *chuckle* He should have known better. She ended up buying about 8 bottles of wine and we had to sneak them in the house *L*.
Debbie asked if we wanted to go out to dinner Saturday night, so we went to The Macaroni Grill, a chain out here. We had a great time, and all went home stuffed with food left over.

Yesterday, we did the "mom & pop" visit like we always do, then came home and opened all the doors and windows as it was GORGEOUS out!
Last night, my God-Daughter came over (Dave's daughter) in her halloween costume... she was a Peacock! *L* She was adorable.

Well, the holiday season is now upon us.... *sigh* Shopping for anything is going to be a nightmare, finding parking places is going to be impossible, and sales are going to be off the wall! BUT.... I get Veterans day (Nov 11) and the day after off, so maybe my daughter and I (she has Veterans day off too) will try to get a lot of shopping out of the way.

After work today, I begin the leaf pickp in my yard. They're not all down yet, but there's enough to fill some bags and get it started. Supposed to be a gorgeous day again.

And now, the news not fit to print:

Gun club invites public to blow away pumpkins with .50-caliber machine gun

Ok, what part of THIS is weird? Bus plunges off Andean cliff, killing at least 28 BUT... it killed 28, and injured 28! How do you survive a fall like that? Did I mention, the cliff is 650 feet high?

Did you know there's a Ghost Head Nebula? It's gorgeous!

Some of my favorite Halloween Babes...!

This is WAY too funny.. An internet scammer, gets scammed!

Ok guys, here's Oprah's top 50 lists of chick flicks (now you know which ones to avoid). All except #14 that is....

Have a great Monday all...!
