Thank goodness it's not Monday!

Well, the weekend went by way to quickly.
Friday night, I noticed a Corvette in the newspaper down in New London (where our Sub base is), called the guy, and my friend Ray and I went to see it Saturday afternoon.
It was at a small car-dealer's lot, had every single option available, but looked... "worn". Tiny nicks in the paint, seats kinda worn a bit, and it only had 15000 miles on it. Me, I was excited as heck, and overlooked a lot of things (that's why I bring Ray). I took it for a test drive, and it was obvious the owner of the place didn't know much about Vette's. Driving home, we talked about this car.. and even though it was one of the lowest priced ones I'd seen, it simply wasn't well taken care of.

Sunday, I went to a friends house to watch the Indy 500. Now THAT, was a great race and I'm not that much of a race fan. Had a great afternoon of racing, and watched a bit of the NASCAR race before heading h ome.

Monday, Ray, my son and I went to see the Vette that I linked to on Friday.
As the guy backed this car out of the garage, it was incredibly clear that this car was immaculate. We looked and looked and looked for even one flaw on this car, and couldn't find a thing. Even the inside of the wheels, behind the spokes were so clean, you could eat off of them. This car, literally could have been sitting on the showroom floor new. Not even the tiniest nick from rocks kicking up.
Well, I took it for a ride with the owner, then took my son for a short ride.. thanked the guy for his time and told him I'd get back to him soon.
Here's a pic I took with my digital cam of the car
The interior is just as clean, and still had that "new car smell".
I may make him an offer today... we'll see.
Those of you that know me best (my brother, Dave.. etc) will know that the purchase of anything over $100 in my house always means World War III, and this time was no different. ~shrug~

Other than that, the weather was gorgeous this weekend with rain only at nights. Today, supposed to be gorgeous again..

A big HI to Kev, a long ago reader that's gone missing for a while, but who recently emailed me. I hope you come to read again!

And now, on to the news:

Lets hear it for long weekends!!!

Thank goodness for long weekends. I sure need one. Isn't it amazing, we have a holiday of some sort, almost every month? Only April and June do we not have day off of work here. I'd like to congratulate whoever figured all that out.

I'm hoping to go see a Corvette this weekend that's in state, about an hour away. The guy wants more for it than I'm willing to pay.. but he's had it for sale for over a month and a half. It's actually his wife's car, and note the mileage is only 7,500, pretty low for a 2001 Vette. This is the Vette I'm talking about. Not a good picture, but another site had better pics but I can't find it now.

What's everyone else doing for the weekend? I'm STILL hoping for some sun this weekend. The weatherpeople are still scratching their collective heads.

Oh, and tonight we may go see the Star Wars movie.

Other than that, should be a normal weekend!

On to the news:

Man scratching off lottery tickets in a Rolls Royce Corniche ends up driving into the ocean(w/pic)

Tape found of a 1999 force 5 tornado! Got to watch the video on left top of page!

And of course, being Friday... My BOTD! (Don't know if I've shown that one before, but I like it)
and another.. just in case I did repeat the first one..!

Have a great weekend! No Blog on Monday!

Payday... and it's STILL cold and raining!

Good grief... will we EVER get a warm spring? This is getting weird.

My back's still not any better than yesterday... hopefully the long weekend will help.

We're supposed to be going to see the new Star Wars movie on Friday night. I'm hoping it's not incredibly crowded, that it's died down a bit since opening.. plus, there's some other movies beginning tomorrow that may take the heat off of SW.

Is anyone having problems getting into my blog lately? Curt is.. and yesterday, it took forever to load. I guess you can't complain.. blogger's for free.

Anyone got plans for the big weekend? I always get an invite to Dave's neighbor's (TJ's) house to watch the Indy 500. This guy's a geek, and a race fanatic. He's also got one of the most amazing TV's and surround sound I've ever seen. He makes home-made pizza, buys everyone their favorite soft drink... we really have a great time.
Other than that, no plans yet. I'm HOPING the weather is better than it is now.

Well, time is short, so here's the news:

I couldn't be happier:
Runaway bride could face five years in prison for cunning stunt

Interesting story
Woman gives birth to identical quads! Only 50 other times has this happened. No fertility drugs used.

Have you always wanted to buy a submarine? (Warning, it's Canadian!)

A headline I love

Now THIS is interesting!
Cryogenically freezing car parts makes them last MUCH longer!

That's it for today... enjoy and have a great day!

Well, I'm back to work at least...

Back is still sore, but don't want to be out for 2 days like that.

Hey Bob, yes, you did mention it the other day, but sometimes my memory is shot!
So, how long were you on the road again? *LOL*
God, 47 years IS a long time. You must have seen it all. The good news is, you're here now and don't have to worry about driving any longer. (do you miss it a lot?)
BTW, for those of you who haven't seen Bob's blog, it's listed at left. Also, be sure to check out his profile *LOL*

Karen, no mention of my note to you yesterday in the blog (National Mastrubation Month? *LOL*

It's rainy and cold again today.. very unseasonal weather for here. It'll barely make 50 today, and it's supposed to be in the lower to mid 70's. Global warming my butt!

Well, I'm late posting today, so on to the news:

Hey michelle, now here's a cause to get behind! *LOL*

Of Sore Backs and Days Off....

Sorry I'm late, I pulled a muscle in my back last night moving my lawnmower to my mother in law's house to do her lawn last night (her son who's supposed to do it, is missing, as usual).
So, last night I put heat on it, and used the vibration part of my family room chair, but this morning it's stiff and still sore, so I decided to take a personal day (I know, could have used a sick day.. but those are being looked at differently now.. another long story).

So, at 8:30, while sleeping peacefully, the phone rings, it's my boss in a tizzy because nobody knows the administrator password where I work, and 2 people need their password changed. Oh, the person who DOES know the password.. must have forgotten, and don't you know, just as I'm telling him, the guy remembers and is able to get in! GRRR!

Wow Bob, 4 million miles??? Thats' hard to imagine. Over how many years did you aquire all those miles, if you don't mind me asking.

Karen, thanks for worrying... I saw your post! *S*

Welcome back from vacation Carrie and Aaron...

And now, on to the news:

Damn it... is it Monday already?

Well, the training class went well on Friday, at least I wasn't in work.

The weekend was mostly a washout, with rain coming in a bit Saturday, then almost all day Sunday. I'm still looking for a Corvette.. was supposed to go see one Sunday but got rained out.
Did our usual "go to see mom and dad" thing yesterday.. their anniversary is tomorrow. They're well over 50 years married now! It's hard to believe they made it that far.. they fight like cats and dogs *L*.

Does everyone have a long weekend next weekend? I'm hoping the weather's going to finally turn. It's been unusually cool and rainy so far this spring. Maybe some night this week, or this weekend I'll go see the Star Wars movie. My brother went to see it and loved it.

After reading the comments from Thursday, I'm wondering what I'm so "wrong" about. If it's what I believe... well, it's sad that you had to post that in public.

Hey Trucker Bob, are you a short or long haul trucker?

Oh well, on to the news:

"Hello OnStar, my toddler is locked in my car and I have a half million dollars worth of marijuana that I am hauling"

Firefighters mistake teen's newly purchased car as junk car to be used for "jaws of life" practice session. Hilarity ensues

Female police officer who appeared naked in a sex video resigns, less than two months after she was re-hired from being fired in the first place

Parents surprised when the video rented for their son ends in porn. Boy surprised that Shark Tale ended in bukkake scene

And here's one just for you Karen...

TGIF! (and I love blogging from home on a weekday)

Yep, still at home getting ready to head to my training class.

Thanks for Blogrolling me Trucker Bob, I'll do the same soon! (now he puts pressure on me!) BTW Bob, you hvae to go back a long time and catch up on who I am and everything.. *LOL*

I'm actually not that complex a person. To recap, I'm married just over 25 years now, 2 kids, a 23 year old daughter that teaches high school math, and a 20 year old son that's in college for Pharmacy (so far at least). Both living home.
I work for the University of Connecticut, in the Information Technology field. It's a great job, and I've made a few good friends there.
I'm having my mid-life crisis I guess, and am looking to purchase a Corvette very soon. Keep your fingers crossed.

Looking down the left side of my blog, there's Paul's blog (we used to work together), though he doesn't update often, there's Karen that I've been friends with for a while that you already know, Carrie and Patti's blogs that also aren't updated too often, Kents (Bubba's) blog that he swears he'll post to again, and Curt's blog... when he writes, I read... and he's a great friend I used to work with, down in North Carolina, Vadergrrrl's and the shmoopsie's blog. Then Colin's blog, and LQ's blog, friends for quite some time now, and the Darth Side that I just started reading, and it seems like he's stopping, sadly enough!

Curt, are you working on new toons bud?

michelle, I still think you should start a blog.... *S*

Well, time is short.. on to the news:

Man driving Mercedes parks in the middle of a highway during morning rush hour to tell everyone there's a bomb in his car

Italian porn industry the only economic sector in that country to operate efficiently and on time

Dolphins to be issued with mobile phones, sharks with frikkin' laser beams

Kent, did you do this???
Kentucky parents pull kids out of Little League because it was sponsored by Hooters

Now I know Bubba was part of THIS!
Geeks nearly riot in Kentucky theatre after problems with projector showing Revenge of the Sith (spoilers)

And of course, My BOTD!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Kinda like Friday to me...!

Tomorrow I have a training class off-site, so today is like my Friday! The weather's just about perfect for this time of year, 70's in the afternoons, perfect sleeping weather at night.

Hello to a new reader, Trucker Bob from B.C. Canada! How'd you find me anyways? *chuckling*

Well, I have some good news. I think I finally found a place to put the Vette I want to buy! WHOO HOO! More as this story unfolds.

So, did anyone see Star Wars last night? How'd you like it?

Mike, no, I hadn't heard that. I'll call some friends and ask about a fire.

Continuing with my Star Wars tribute:

The disturbence in the force continues.. as my incredible IT prowess reaches out through the ether and runs Windows updates on a computer in another location, the task 88% completed, and WHAM, the connection is lost. The insipid end user, knowing that something looked amiss on her screen when she came in early (she could have seen from actually READING the screen that I was logged in), she just pushed the big OFF button, and set me back 2 hours worth of work.
Were it up to me.. she would be gasping for air, clutching her throat in agony while I smiled beneath my black mask.

And now, the news:

Man says Budweiser fired him for drinking Coors

Again, if you have to read only one....
"Most whipped" category in yearbook manages to outrage at least one area mom. White girlfriend holding a black boyfriend on a collar and leash apparently not a good photo op in retrospect. (With pic)

Hey Trucker Bob, this wasn't you was it?

And here's one JUST for you Karen! *L*
Woman wearing vibrating panties passes out while shopping. Paris Hilton unavailable for comment.

Riddle me this. Which famous Riddler on Batman just passed away?

I like this headline:

And the last one for Colin.. (this happened in Mass.)

That's all for now, not sure if there's a blog tomorrow.. have a great day all!

Hump-Day... and other things...

First, let me answer michelle's question yesterday.

Yes. *S* (although I don't think you'd mind) *LOL*

More "Typical" computer users:

6. The "Internal Junk Mailer".
This is the person that HAS to CC you on everything, and send you every poor joke, and spam email they get.

7. Users that think part of my job is to spend my lunch break telling them how to fix their home PC's without ever seeing it.
Yes, this happens WAY too often. (I wish I had a dollar for every time this happened)

8. Users that complain about not being able to use that new application because they couldn't take the time to attend the training session because "It was their turn to make the coffee", or some other lame excuse.
This happens WAY more often than you think.

9. Being summoned to a user's office on an urgent call, only to be left waiting while they're on the phone on a personal call.
"Oh yeah, Timmy's getting so big. We should get together for a playdate.. what do you think? blah, blah, blah..." all while I seethe while waiting.

10. The Liar. "Honest, I rebooted and it still doesn't work".
I do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and see that he/she's been logged on for 200 days in a row, and lied about rebooting. Go figure.

In honor of Star Wars this week, and my young Padawan Curt:

There is a tremor in the force this week. I feel it calling to me, singing as a song carried on the ether from star to star, stretching and compressing as it goes. My finger taps at my lightsaber unconsciously as my senses are heightened.

My Master Palpatine (boss) is telling me of the great power of this software named Siemens.. and I try to explain, "The power of Siemens is nothing compared to the power of the force", and then when one of his minions babbles foolishly to try to correct me, I disembowel him as an inspiration of faith, his eyes bulging out like a squashed bug, the others soiling themselves in fear.

and yet, the singing continues.. I know not where for it comes..
(more to come)

The end of this week's going to be quiet. Aaron's on vacation, Carrie's on vacation.. lets see how many comments I get now! *L*

Hey Bruce, when are you going to see Star Wars??

Oh well, on to the news:

Here's a list of some of the new shows for fall, and some that didn't make it.
And check this out.. they're re-making Kolchak! Does anyone remember Kolchak, the Night Stalker?

Hey Colin, here's a good one for you!
Court comes down soft on fractured penis suit (happened in Massachusetts)

This is too funny
Thirteen-year-old steals car, uses 12-pack of Bud Light to see over steering wheel

Ok ladies, get your orders in now!

I think I'm going to go to College....
U. of Iowa offers pornography course. Who could possibly object?

That's it for today... Enjoy!

Another Tuesday Morning in Paradise....

Hey, it could be a LOT worse! I know quite a few people I used to work with, that got laid off long after me, that still aren't working. Some are in part time jobs.. trying to make ends meet.

Has anyone read Curt's blog lately?
Yes, IT people wield Absolute Power. Mere mortals fear us because we can take away their internet connection (no E-Bay when they're supposed to be working), their email (so they can't send those horrible chain emails), and when the poop hits the fan (when a virus strikes their machine), we can pull the plug altogether. Yes, those people that download tons of games at their desks, and wonder WHY they got a virus! *gasp*
Then they complain when I pull their plug.
Or there's the doctor that put a CD in a drive off-center, and the spindle wore a hole in her "Big Bird and Ernie Teach your A-B-C's", to entertain her kid (who didn't belong in work to begin with), and wanted US to pay for a new CD!
Took away her PC for 3 days... she wasn't very happy.

Then, as Curt will attest, there are the "typical" computer users:

1. Users that give you the diagnosis of the problem, and tell you exactly how to fix it.
Makes you want to drop off the part and let them fix it. "Sure that cable goes there, but only 1 of 2 ways. One way makes it work, the other smokes it" Go ahead.

2. Users that hover so close, that when you move you bump them all the time.
Hey, I don't stare over your shoulder when you work, don't hover over mine. (then they say "What's that, What's that... repeat"

3. Users that vehemently deny causing the problem, but are guilty as sin of downloading "Doom" on their PC.
Give me a break. I do this for a living. I'm your GOD!

4. The person that, 30 seconds into getting there, says "Why not call the company?"
Can I at least TRY to fix it first? I'd rather sacrifice a cat right there on the keyboard than be put on hold for 20 minutes by the manufacturer's support staff.

5. Purchasing people that change what you wanted to purchase.
They say "I saved $3.00 by getting you this RAM instead". When it doesn't work, of course they blame it on someone else, not on them trying to save $3.

More tomorrow, on to the news:

Hey Bruce, here's one for you:
LSU sophomore who's never played a minute of college basketball declares for NBA draft. High school coach: "For two or three minutes he's as good as anyone"

Woman has dispute with two other women, lists their names and phone numbers as sex workers in local newspaper. Callers dismayed to discover that Pauline was wheelchair-bound, 72, and not actually interested in sex talk

List of 100 Greatest War Films. Omissions of Pearl Harbor and U-571 gives it at least some credibility (though, lack of Band of Brothers makes me believe the list sucks)

"Doctor Who" episode raises contoversy as an evil robot (a Dalek) is tortured! People, it's a robot. People, it's evil. People, IT'S A TV SHOW!

That's all for today... Enjoy!

Monday, May 16, 2005

*yawn* Another frickin' Monday...

When the heck is our next long weekend?? I sure need one. Hmm, lets see.. that'd be May 30th that we have off. Two weeks from today.... thank goodness!

The weekend was good.. Dave and I went to see MindHunters, a new film that was delayed in release for over 2 years. They should have delayed it a few more. Looked like a good FBI killer kinda movie, with Val Kilmer, Christian Slater and the lady from Cold Case. Turned out to be disappointing. Oh well...

Other than that, it was the usual weekend.

I'm still having a problem finding a garage for the Corvette I hope to buy. It sucks to be so close, yet so far away from getting it. The "storage facilities" in the area are way too expensive. So, I keep looking.

The week looks to be kinda busy in work, and Friday I'll be in a training class, so I'm not sure if there'll be a blog or not.

How many of you are going to the midnight showing of Star Wars? Not me....

On to the news:

THIS is a classic, Store Wars!:
Princess Lettuce: "Help me Obi-Wan Cannoli, you're my only hope against Dark Tater"

Way too funny:
Remember how hot Princess Leia looked in her slave outfit on Jabba's barge? Wouldn't it be great if you could dress up your dog like that? (pic)

IBM sides with Firefox. Separatist movement gains momentum against The Empire

And that's it for today.. enjoy!

TGIF!!! and the sun's still out!

Yep, it's Friday once again thank goodness!
No big plans for the weekend.. at least not yet, other than going out to dinner and a movie with Dave tonight as his wife's throwing some kind of "jewelry party" at their house and my wife and daughter are going there too. SO, I don't know what we'll see.

First of all, Curt for some reason can't post comments anymore, but wanted to say this about the story from NC about the art with the woman's legs spread out wide:
I kinda like the legs. Matches the butt water tower down in Gaffney, SC... *LOL*

To answer Mike's question in the comments, it's not ready yet, and we're looking to plan something for the fall.. was possibly going to be Octoberfest in Munich, but it seems you have to book more than a year in advance!
Wanna go to Vegas?

Oh, and michelle... I DID end up remembering the username and password! Nyahhhhh!

On to the news...:

Here's one for Colin:
Boston in jeopardy of losing journalists' conference due to 1675 law requiring all Native Americans entering the city to be arrested

Ok, I can see once.. but 3 times?
Man accidentally shoots himself three times while cleaning gun

Do you gravitate towards the light or the dark side of The Force? Take the quiz and find out (Me, I came out Han Solo, a lovable Rogue and Scoundrel)

It can be very difficult for a child to pull my gun out of it's holster. *BANG* (in an elementary school no less!)

Hundreds of Darth Vaders and imperial troops will invade a Paris boulevard on Friday. France surrenders

And of course, My BOTD!
(thanks for the catch Paul)

Enjoy your weekend....

On memory loss, growing old, and the Power of IT

Last first, yes Curt, it has to be all the IT power we wield that keeps me awake at night *chuckling*... it's easy to abuse you know and go over to the dark side. The ability to give access, or take it away is awe-inspiring, and not to be used maliciously.
Yes.. wield the power we do.. it's enough to make women and small children cower in fear... amazing.

Growing old.. yep, we all are. Sometimes I feel it, other times I still feel like I'm in my 20's. Is this what my "second childhood" is? I'm looking for my Corvette, and while I've found the car I want, I need a garage to keep it in and it seems like nobody on the planet has one to rent. It's always a struggle for something simple it seems. Never had these problems when I was younger. Just once lately, I'd like something to go easy for me.

I was testing something the other day, and created another blog completely seperate from these that I own. As soon as I logged out, I immediately forgot.. ok, get this.. both the username AND the password! *LOL*
On the other hand, yesterday, I stopped at Dunkin Donuts for a coffee on the way to work, saw a guy I hadn't seen since childhood (big jock type, made it in baseball, basketball and football), and said his name in an instant!
I think I need Ginko, or Kinko.. or something! *L*

Moving right along, it's a gorgeous day so far out. Temp is around 65 and sunny.

Hey Mike Hertz, you still reading this?
How about you Bubba??? What's going on down in 'Kin-tucky'?

Now, for the news:

Woman, 70, survives 9 story fall!

And yet Aaron, another reason to go to Canada:
"Sea of beer" shuts down major Canadian Highway

If you read one, it has to be this one!

Yo Curt, what's the matter with you NC people!

Enjoy the day...!

Into our lives, a little rain must fall...

Yep, it's going to rain again today. This has been a very rainy spring so far.
Sleep still eludes me.. getting only a few minutes at a time nitely lately.

I also don't know why I'm so at a loss for words now. I sit here and think about what to post, and it's strained to write, versus when I could just write and write. Maybe I'm going through writers block!

Hey Curt, y'all got a cure for that down yonder? *S*

Lets just get to the news:

Man says he only broke his marital vows once, but it was for a "female extraterrestrial of unusually robust build"

Curt, Curt, Curt.... tsk tsk tsk...

Is it Monday already?

This weekend went by WAY too quickly.

Friday night's poker game was a great time. There was enough beer and munchies to feed a football team, and the company was outstanding. I did real well in Poker, but lost in the "Texas Hold-Em" tournament. I got home around 1am, and was completely spent.

Saturday, the wife and I went car shopping.. then she made a big batch of our Jamaican Jerk Chili. Sunday, Mike and I went to see my mom, then looking around at cars and after we left, all the girls went to the Mothers Day Brunch. They had a great time, and later in the afternoon I took the wife out looking for flowers that she wants.

The weekend just seemed to fly by.

Finally, the weather's starting to get nice. Up near 70 today, maybe near 80 tomorrow!

The trees are so full of leaves now, I can barely see the highway from my office window now. Spring IS here!

And now, the news:

Now THIS.. is a scary story!

TGIF! And another rainy weekend..

Well, it's Friday thank goodness, and that means poker game tonight at Aaron's house, then tomorrow, I need to go to the mall and look for some spring clothes. Sunday, the girls are all going to a "brunch", so it'll be just Mike and me at home (though he'll probably go out with his friends).

Other than that, things are going well I guess. I'm still getting a kick out of this blog.. called The Darth Side. The guy is a VERY prolific writer!

I've been coming in early this week to do some Windows Updates on PC's here, so I get to get out early because of it! Whoo hoo!
This afternoon, I have to take my car to emissions testing.. can't forget that!

What's everyone got going on for the weekend?

Oh, and Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there!

And now, the news:

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Yep, it's the fifth of May, time for us ALL to have a Margarita and some chips and salsa and relax.
Today, Aaron and I will be doing lunch at a nice Mexican restaurant nearby to celebrate.

Last part of the vacation review. Aruba is another GORGEOUS island that I'd go back to in a heartbeat. Just for you LQ, here's me at Iguana Joe's Restaurant in Aruba. We had lunch there with a couple of friends. Here's another picture I took in Aruba... it's really quite beautiful there.
We shopped there, and my wife and I bought our daughter a tanzanite tennis bracelet to match the one I won for my wife. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation.

Tomorrow night there's a poker game at Aaron's house, and this weekend.. I'm hoping to get some lawnwork done if it doesn't rain. Sunday, My wife, daughter, mother and mother in law are going out for a mothers day brunch.

Oh.. almost forgot. Looks slim now that I'll get my corvette this year, as my mother in law is afraid to let me use her garage, because she turned down her son to put a boat in it (though he wanted to tear down walls). ~frown~

Vacation Update... Curacao

Curacao was one of the most beautiful places we stopped. Being a Dutch island (as is Aruba), it was exceptionally clean, well maintaned, and the colors.. well, judge for yourself!
Here's another picture, from the ship. The place is just that beautiful.
There are outdoor cafe's everywhere, and very friendly people. We spent the day just walking and browsing in and out of quaint shops. I'd go back to Curacao in a heartbeat!
Tomorrow, Aruba, our last stop.

Today, I have to head to the main office soon, where the bosses will be serving breakfast to us lower forms of life (in frilly aprons so they say no less!). This should be interesting.

Other than that, not much more to report. Weather's been weird all week. Cold in the morning, warming up to about 50, then raining in the afternoons.

Oh, I found this in LQ's blog. It's one of the FUNNIEST blogs I've ever read! Give it a look.

Oh, and foxnews.com yesterday had a set of videos from the fiance of the "runaway bride", who said with such gall that "She's a victim here too". VICTIM???? WHAT A BUTTHEAD! They're meant for each other!

And now, the news:

Vacation Recap, Part 4...

Our next stop was Margarita Island, a posession of Venezuela (actually 7 miles off the coast of Venezuela). We decided to do a tour of the island, so we hopped on a big, air conditioned bus and headed out. The first thing we noticed, was that the island was filthy with litter. It was everywhere, and very prominent on the sides of highways.
We went to a very old church first, one of the first built after Columbus came to the new world. The church was gorgeous, and then we went to a villa, formerly owned by a very rich landowner that had been converted into a museum. This was mildly interesting.. then we boarded the bus for a trip downtown to a small village called Santa Maria. Here, we saw THE oldest church in all North and South America (so they say), and got a chance to shop downtown for a bit before heading to a fort atop a hill. Odd thing is, the fort was far from the water, so I don't know what it was being used for.
Last stop was a fishing village, that while beautifully colored fishing boats dotted the coastline, when you turned around, it was like the slums.
All in all, I woulnd't go back to this island again.

More tomorrow, and now, the news:

The idiot runaway bride still hasn't apologized for what she has done!. The wedding, she ran from, cost over $100,000. She should go to jail!

And just some headlines that are great:

Monday in May....

Well, it was a busy weekend. Friday night, Dave and I went to see The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, which was... ok, but I think I'm jaded because of the BBC tape I have of the 13 part series made years ago.
One of the odd things is, there were small parts of the movie I was reciting right along with the movie, that are literally copied from the TV series. Another surprise, was a cameo appearance (not a speaking role) of the original Marvin robot! The movie was put together haphazardly, jumping from place to place with little explanation, and lacking much of the best parts of the TV series like The Restaurant at the End of the Universe part. Casting was kinda bad too, with the exception of Arthur Dent, and Slartibartfast. The actors playing Ford Prefect and Zaphod Beeblebrox weren't all that good. Again, maybe if I hadn't seen the TV series, I'd feel differently.
DON'T PANIC!
I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Saturday, I went to a computer show with my son, and another friend, got some RAM for my home PC, got home and installed that, then got a new battery for my lawn tractor and installed it. We went out to dinner with our friends Ray and Debbie Saturday night, and had a great time.

Sunday, was the usual "go to see mom and dad" kinda thing, then took a ride with my daughter to see our travel agent, as she had some things to give her.

Other than that, it was a nice, quiet, uneventful weekend.

And now, on to the news:

How can this "runaway bride", NOT be charged? She had 600 people coming to her wedding, 14 bridesmaids and groomsmen, and she runs away just before the wedding! WHAT AN IDIOT! PUT HER IN JAIL!
